a stone in a river, 3

scorched blooms seed-set & gone
to compost, composed with coffee grounds
& eggshells, cuttings

bee on my hand, unwitting traveler
in my pocket, my palm,
set him among the herbs

where he grooms his antenna
as if lunch was a delight
or to remove all
vestige of that strange trip
